An insight into the world of a painter/gamer/father
Looks really good mate. Really impressed with the quality of your painting, must have taken ages.
These ones didnt take as long as the first squad as i knew what i was doing and the techniques i needed. Im pleased with them, they look great as a whole on the board but the transferes are a pain in the ass always cause problems and my free hands not great so i just have to try and fill the gaps
oh and i suck at painting eyes so my long fangs and bloodclaws will largely look cross eyed or pervy lol
I gave up on the idea of painting eyes a long time ago... they always looked cross eyed or crazed - even the ones I got spot on looked like lunatics. I then thought "hang on, if a person was so far away that they were this big to me (think Father Ted small/far away here) would I really be able to see the whites of their eyes?"Since then I've just shaded round the eye area and it looks a lot more natural...
this tends to be what i do but i wanted a challenge and painting "wolf" is so i gave up and just did them blue with black dots. problem is with marines you have helmets which the focal point of the lenses and when you see bare head marines you can really notice if they dont have painted eyes
